Prior to the [[Nongban Civil War]] Lingsken was the small coastal fishing villiage of Kinetoshana. [[Yotumic Divisionary Federation]] census records show it existed by at least 120TT. Kinetoshana had a peak population of 4,000 in 23 PC, prior to the civil war.

Kinetoshana was occupied by Akuta in 25PC, there are no reports that that YDF attempted to protect the village due to all forces being concentrated elsewhere. All historical documents indicate that population surrendered peacefully.

During occupation 80k Hongtongulans and 50k Tun'ilhameng moved into Lingsken, almost entirely on their respective sides of the border.

Significant ethnic cultural and political tensions were observed throughout the occupations of the city. The greatest contributing factors were the change in economic and political systems under the new nations, change in identity, cultural differences, ethnic diversification, isolation from friends and family across the border, cultural repression, and economic instability. Throughout the occupation it was noted by news and politicians that Hongtongulan attempts to suppress Akarian cultural identity, independence sentiments, and organized crime were far weaker than the TUN's.

In 76PC the Akarian Nongbans Capital Association (ANCA) was formed by Akarian residents of Lingsken. It is believed that the relatively relax attitude of the Hongtongulan government allowed the ANCA to grow in both sides of the city by allowing meetings to be held in Lingsakan, weapons to be purchased in Ligathan, and fugitive members to continue participation on the opposite side of the border.

=== 100 Days War ===
In 72PC the ANCA began an attempt at independence. 6 bombings by the group were conducted throughout the city on neighborhoods known to contain many non-akaraians, prompting Hongtongula and the TUN to begin moving forces into the city and closing border. After the first day the ANCA made their pressence known by hijacking a Lingsken TV station and broadcasting their demands of the TUN and Hongtongulan governments. Following this, continued bombings, hostage taking, shootings, and skirmishes occured in both Lingsakan and Ligathan.

2 weeks into the war, all television and radio stations were captured by the ANCA and used to broadcast messages that supported the ANCA cause. At this point, all foreign radio stations within range of the city began nonstop broadcasting of news and information for residents to evacuate and avoid the city. Many of these broadcasts were anti-Akarian in nature.

During the conflict Hongtongula made continued requests for military aid by the Yotumic Republic. at the Yotumic Republic Congress 389th session, it was put up to a vote: "Shall the Yotumic Republic deploy the Yotumic Republican Army to the city of Lingasakan?". The resolution failed at Yes: 35 (4 Hongtongula) Abstain: 82 No: 25.

1 month into the war, Hongtongula, at the advice of the Yotumic Republic, bombed a ANCA hideout that was not known to contain hostages. 214 of the hostages died in this attack. At least 70k civilians across the [[Nongbosphere]] publicly protested this neglience on the Hongtongulan military and Yotumic Republic consultants. This significantly hampered the confidence in the Hongtongulan army to combat the ANCA.

2 months into the war ANCA forces managed to make incursions into Hongtongula, while the TUN maintained their territory.

A pack of domestic Hongtongulan deathwalkers were freed by ANCA fighters and began settling into parks in Lingsken. It was believed they may harm the population but their unexpected docility was well appreciated by many people during the tense conflict.

By the end of the war neither Hongtongula nor the TUN made significant progress in defeating the ANCA due to both militaries having poor experience in urban warfare and continued underestimates of the size of the ANCA. At this point, peace negotiations were opened with the Yotumic Republic as mediator. The negotiations were broadcasted live on television.

By the end of the conflict 1431 deaths were recorded, 471 of which were civilians. 681 hostages were taken by the ANCA, of which 381 died, mostly in the Hongtongulan bombing incident. Another 3200 people were reported missing, most likley either killed or immigrated without notice.

The MPLMoN condemned this Lighsken state, and promised life imprisonment for any known associate of the state.

Immediately following the independence, Tamarak Wogok established a constitution of Lingsken, declaring him the president-mayor. The new council of Lingsken then declared that Lingsken will have a completely free market. Since then taxes have continuously been lowered to avoid playing any revenue to Hongtongula or the TUN.

Due to the 8th clause, concerning tariffs, Lingsken became the cheapest route to import and export many goods to Nongba which are otherwise highly tariffed for import directly to other Nongban nations. This, combined with existing infrastructure, had lead to large investments in trading companies in the city.

Since independence, known Tun’ilhameng and Akarian gangs have establidhed themselves in Lingsken.
