'''Turbulence Time''' (commonly abbreviated '''TT''') is the epoch of the [[Haracalnde]] before the [[Grand Calming]]. It is the epoch in which there were [[perpetual storm]]s throughout the seas of the [[Attu Archipelago]], preventing safe passage across seas and isolating people to islands.

== History ==

[[Thalassology|Thalassologists]] consider history to have either two or three distinct eras. Three-era theorists refer to a pre-storm (anteturbulent) era, a storm (turbulent) era, and a post-storm (postturbulent or calm) era. Two-era theorists deny the existence of a pre-storm era, believing that the storm existed since the dawn of time.

The three-era theory posits the existence of an anteturbulent era in which the seas were calm, before the storm began. Different three-era theorists disagree on when this was. For example, many [[Caseic Archipelago|Caseic]] thalassologists claim that the storm began sometime between 3000 and 2000 TT, which would place it in the [[Forgotten Era]] of Caseic history. Meanwhile, [[Deysachin|Deysachni]] thalassologists claim that the storm began no later than 5000 TT.

The two-era theory posits that there was no anteturbulent era. The two-era theory is generally considered more fringe and less credible than the three-era theory, especially after the 43 PC [[Attu Thalassology Conference]] in [[Canebrija]], where three-era theorists presented compelling archaeological evidence of the [[Tannic migration]].

Some thalassologists posit that there were multiple eras of calm and storm, or that calm and storm repeat in a cyclical manner. Multi-era theory is considered fringe, but not as fringe as two-era theory.
