The New Hapšâw'l Calendar (Hapšâw'l: Nil Hapšâw'l Hakaybêyâřâ), or NHHB, is the calendar currently used by the Kingdom of Hapšâw. It was adopted in 65 PC with the goal of making conversion to Haracalnde dates easier and replaced the traditional calendars used in Tokšahalna and Goyhalna.
Function
The NHHB is composed of 360 days, and is divided into 3 periods of 120 days each. It's first year corresponds to 49 PC, which is the year of the Kapatokšavotsi Voyage, the years before it are marked with "0-" before the number of the year. Years start on the first day of the haracalnde, or 1-1.
The dates are written in a YPD format, with slashes in between, for example 1-1 70 PC would be written as 22/1/1.
Changes
The Traditional Hapšâw'l Calendar year started 22 days before the haracalnde year, the new year was moved to make conversion easier. The old calendars used 208 TT (Goyhalna) and 217 TT (elsewhere) as year zero. The traditional calendar of the Fishermen was made up of periods of 144 days and started on 3-5 612 TT.
