Hrso Vinshasi was a T'vaqi mathematician and professor renowned for his contributions during the Second Unification of T'vaqi. He is responsible for the creation of the Cognitive Capacity Scale, the basis of modern T'vaqi society.

Early life

Hrso Vinshasi was born in 291 TT. He was born in the South Sthampa faction-state, though he would spend most of his recorded life living in the North Sthampa area (both located in present-day Ishiq). Very little is known of Vinshasi's childhood, and Vinshasi himself was never recorded to have mentioned the subject. He notably possessed fully white hair by his early teenage years, and generally appeared years older than he actually was; a common rumor during his lifetime was that he was simply born an adult. At the age of 19, Vinshasi began attending a literature school.

Education and career

After a year at the literature school, Vinshasi had grown thoroughly disinterested with reading and writing. He began attending a nightly mathematics school, tutoring to earn money in his spare time. He also began playing in local V'shi tournaments as a hobby, quickly becoming an adept competitor. Vinshasi remained enrolled in the literature school despite his general distaste for the subject, largely because he had developed a close friendship with fellow scholar Mharvin Spas'vilir. Vinshasi supported Spas'vilir's writings, which outlined what would become the Aqali faith, and encouraged Spas'vilir to publish them once they were complete.

After completing his education, Vinshasi chose to become a professor at the mathematics school at which he studied. He became a renowned figure in the North Sthampa area for his impressive intelligence and smooth manner of speech. For his general intellect and level-headed personality, Vinshasi was chosen to represent the Sthampa faction-state in the Unification Committee that decided on the reforms of the Second Unification of T'vaqi.

Vinshasi developed the Cognitive Capacity Scale in 243 TT at the age of 48. The inspiration for the metric and exam had come from his experiences playing V'shi with others. After the rest of the Unification Committee accepted the system, the Cognitive Capacity Scale was instituted as one of the reforms of the Second Unification. Vinshasi notably never took the test himself, though he is often called the exam's highest scorer by virtue of having created it.

Vinshasi served as the joint headmaster of both High Institutes from their creation in 234 TT to 226 TT. Each Institute has been led by a separate headmaster since.

Death

Vinshasi died by suicide at age 80, only hours after the death of Mharvin Spas'vilir. He had no spouse or children.

  1. ↑ The first name of Vinshasi's father is unknown. It appears on some documentation as Viso, but no primary source confirms this; it is likely that the name is a placeholder.
