T'vaqi Qho

The T'vaqi Qho (ℓ) is the standard currency of T'vaqi. The currency was standardized shortly after the Second Unification of T'vaqi in 244 TT. The perforations now present on modern-day banknotes did not exist upon the currency's introduction; they were instead added after it became commonplace to rip banknotes into halves and quarters to split money. While the qho has experienced brief surges and dips in value due to internal and foreign circumstances, the value of the currency has steadily declined at an average yearly inflation rate of 2.7% since 47 TT.

Banknotes

Qho banknotes are thin paper squares measuring 3.5 paqoni (4.9cm) in width. Banknotes possess horizontal and vertical perforations which divide them into four equally-sized quarters, such that they can be easily torn into smaller bills of proportional value (for example, a banknote worth ℓ4 can be split into two halves, each worth ℓ2). The current line of banknotes began distribution in 30 PC, shortly after the nation's Calming and the official establishment of Star Worship. Due to the shape of the banknotes, T'vaqi citizens typically store their money in small, square pouches; it is common for these pouches to be decorated with patches, buttons, and other accessories.
