Lake Jesfig

Lake Jesfig (Caseic: Nerec sa Jesfig) is the largest lake in Casea, located between Esiga and Jasfeya.

Names

The Caseic name Nerec sa Jesfig literally means "Lake of Jesfig", referring to the Esigan city of Jesfig which is near the lake. In Esiga, it is known as Nelec sa Jesfig, which means the same thing.

Geography

Roads and cities near Lake Jesfig

Lake Jesfig is located on the east of the island of Casea. It is primarily fed by the Upper Jesfig River to its west, which gets its water from the Great Caseic Mountains. Its primary outflow is the Jesfig River to its east.

The cities of Wimjan and Wimchan are located to the west of the lake. The city of Jesfig is located to its east.

History

Jesfig is one of the oldest human settlements on the island of Casea, having been founded around 4800 TT. It is the oldest city near Lake Jesfig.

As the Cajia Kingdom and Chacya Kingdom expanded, the Jesfig River, and by extension Lake Jesfig, was established as the border between them. As those kingdoms collapsed, the Jesfig River remained the border between Esiga and Jasfeya.
