Record:The Assassinations of Chuwe Brifam

Cloaked figure 1: You're sure this is the right place?
Cloaked figure 2: This is the only house in Niyasto with a garish golden fence and armed guards. I think this is it.
Cloaked figure 1: Right, about those armed guards. They're standing right there. How do we get past them?
Cloaked figure 3: Wait, I hear something.
(An unrelated group of cloaked figures, with similar dark tunics and sashes.)
Cloaked figure 1: I've got an idea.
(That cloaked figure heads to the front gates of Brifam's mansion.)
Cloaked figure 1: Hey, guard, I was just walking around past here, as any sane person would do at this hour, and I couldn't help but notice a suspicious crowd of shadowy figures heading this way.
Guard: (Sleepily.) Oh?
Cloaked figure 1: I think one of them mentioned something about an assassination plan.
(The guard raises an eyebrow.)
Cloaked figure 1: Look, I can stand guard here and let you get some rest. I think I know how to deal with them.
(The guard foolishly relinquishes her Nongban rifle and hands it to the cloaked figure. She then walks home sluggishly. The cloaked figures wait until she's out of view before sneaking into Brifam's mansion.)
Cloaked figure 3: Abriwec better pay us well for this
Cloaked figure 1: Shut it! Don't mention her name on the job.
Cloaked figure 2: Yeah, Jifan, that's like rule one of assassination.
Jifan: You are very lucky that it's a common name.
(The cloaked figures stealthily navigate to Brifam's bedroom. There are three other groups of assassins therein, arguing in whispers.)
(One group is wearing exoskeletal-looking coats that are clearly far too warm for them. They're all visibly sweating in the Caseic heat, and evidently not used to the humidity.)
(Another group is better-dressed for the weather, but still very unusually so. In fact, their clothes look somewhat Akarian.)
(The third group is wearing dark clothes of Caseic origin, similar to the cloaked figures, but they're all ill-fitting. It's obvious that they were stolen hastily.)
(They all whisper in different languages, but somehow understand each other perfectly.)
(The cloaked figures realise that these groups are likely to be foreign mercenaries, who are probably getting paid better to assassinate Brifam by their respective governments than Abriwec could afford.)
(The shadowy figures walk in, behind the cloaked ones. One of them switches on an electric lamp.)
(Another shadowy figure reveals a horn from under their cloak. As that figure begins playing a fanfare on their horn, the shadowy figure doffs his hood. Some of the assassins gasp.)
King Prebache XV: BEHOLD! 'Tis I: King Prebache XV, Ruler of the Kingdom of Prefichi, Leader of the House of Fiwa-Cai and the 30th thereof, Truest Servant of Chae Herself, Rightful Ruler of all Lands west of the Inward Bay, Denouncer of the Caseic Federation and Meat, Harbinger of the Calming's End, and The Assassin of Chuwe Brifam!
(The fanfare manages to wake Brifam.)
(Brifam opens his weary eyes to find his room populated by at least four different groups of assassins arguing over who's going to kill him.)
(Anticipating Brifam deciding to flee, the Utlian assassins had boarded the windows from the outside. Having no choice but to fight, Brifam decides to reach for his emergency sword.)
(As he grabs it, the sword crumbles into dust. The Akarian assassins nod to indicate that they were responsible.)
(One of the Akarian assassins reaches for the sword they replaced with a powder-based replica. They realise it isn't on their person when a Tieteran assassin brandishes it in front of Brifam's face.)
(Jifan brandishes the Nongban rifle she stole from the guard earlier.)
King Prebache XV: Ah yes, you got the rifle from my proxy guard.
Jifan: Proxy guard?
King Prebache XV: I got one of my subordinates to threaten the guard with the rifle earlier and replace him.
(One of the Tieteran assassins realised that this proxy guard was the one they had made drowsy earlier so they could sneak past.)
King Prebache XV: I also used my connections in the G.N.U. to get access to some bottled Legemiddel for the Tieterans to use.
King Prebache XV: That was before I decided it'd be wiser to hire a proxy guard and assassinate Brifam myself.
King Prebache XV: I also got you (Pointing to the Utlians.) those nails and you (Pointing to the Akarians) the powder sword.
(The assassins came to an understanding that the only fair way any of them could claim credit for killing Brifam was if they did so jointly. In the midst of the dialogue, Brifam had found an opening and fled to the streets of Ibe-Jibin.)
(The assassins soon noticed, and chased after him. After going down a few streets, they catch up. One of the Utlians manages to pounce upon and seize Brifam.)
Jifan: You in the crab-coat, hold onto him, by the neck. The rest of us, hold your weapons against his skin and kill on my command.
King Prebache XV: Why not my command?
Jifan: Fine, your command.
(The Utlian presses Brifam to the ground, face-up, with hands around his neck. An Akarian assassin and a Tieteran assassin hold opposite ends of Brifam's sword over his stomach, ready to push it down together. Jifan points the proxy guard's Nongban rifle at Brifam's chest. King Prebache XV has a foot on Brifam's legs, and begins counting down.)
King Prebache XV: 3, 2, 1, Kill!
(Simultaneously, the Utlian's hands strangle Brifam, the Akarian and Tieteran slice open his guts, and the Nongban rifle blasts a hole through his chest and leaves a mark in the stone street below. Each assassin then runs away in a different direction.)
