Brown walking is a Mirroi religious practice. The Mirroites beleive that when you enter into a deathlike state you can commune with the inhabitants of the Brown Pool.

Living King, Hotok Kakay was known to often volentarily initiate brown walks. He died on 20-5 27 TT during an attempted brown walk.
On 22-4 5 PC Living King, Harakar Oken briefly regained consiousness from his coma and managed to speak on the IgRS.
