The Omolai is a body of water in Okrit. It is a narrow straight between the two major islands of Waaq and Onomat
Geography
The name Omolai refers to the contiguous body of water that separates the Okriti islands of Waaq and Onomat, consisting of a shallow saltwater lagoon in the south and narrow brackish water channel in the north. The southern section is calm and flows freely into the sea between the cape of Kafotwo to the east, the Ikanata peninsula in the east and Makwe Island between. The northern channel is fed by both saltwater and fresh water flows, creating a unique aquatic environment with a vast array of unique euryhaline wildlife endemic to the Omolai.
The climate is consistently warm and humid year round, experiencing a mild dry season and a heavy wet season, with the majority of rainfall occurring in the west, on the shores of Onomat and on the Goro Peninsula of Waaq.
