Geography
Most of the island's western half is covered by a dense forest, the eastern half is less forested, due to being more heavily populated. In the west a low mountain chain runs from the north to the south of the island, making it hard to travel through the center of the island, as such most travels happen by sea or along the coast.
Climate
The island has two seasons:
Hošiĥal'l (May to September) is characterized by warmer temperatures (24-30ºC in the day, 15-20ºC at night) as well as frequent and heavy rains.
Nêmân (October to April) has colder temperatures (15-20ºC during daytime, -2-10ºC at night). During nêmân rain is less frequent and lighter, however heavy fog is often present. Snowfall may occur at night, but not enough to form a layer on the ground.
