A Djoemieng, or Mieng for short, is a class of musical intstrument found in Deysachin, describing any instrument played by the plucking or struming of a number of strings. The Djoemieng is one of the two "core" elements to a Djoedjoe, alongside the Djoegruban (precussion).

Subclasses

  • Lugdmieng, instruments that play in a lower, "heavier" range, typically providing a secondary role within the Djoe.
  • Sronmieng, instruments with a wider melodic range, often leading the Djoe.
  • Lezmieng, instruments that play in a higher, "lighter range, typically providing a secondary role within the Djoe.
