Bartolomeo Marone was a Dux of La Rossa, reigning between 65 PC and 72 PC. He had previously served a short term as in interim leader between 56 PC and 57 PC. Initially aligning himself as a moderate conservative, he would quickly become disillusioned with the corruption he perceived in Mare, leading to him renouncing his party label in 54 PC. He has served as an independent ever since. While he has continued to hold on to some conservative positions, he has sought to reform Rossan society to prevent the return of the island's hereditary nobility, and has frequently collaborated with Dux Giulio Moretti despite their political differences. Holding a combative personality, has been described as difficult to deal with by colleagues despite his electoral successes. As Dux, he would expand the Rossan military during the Tricade War with T'vaqi, begin operations against the Qoeul-bo Hrnad, as well as invest in development and democracy abroad, taking a relatively sharp stance against Deysachin, an ally in the House of Light. Domestically, he has pushed for cutting regulatory hurdles and reducing the national industries' dependency on state-backing, deeply prevalent in the past, though this has introduced market instability. He has also opposed the growing Laborist movement. Prior to his later reign, he served as Dux in the interim period after the ousting of Vincenzo Barozzo and the 57 PC election, which he lost. He was appointed by the invading Deysachni forces.
