Beauty standards by island

Beauty standards can be understood as physical traits that are generally seen as desirable and/or attractive within the context of a given culture. This is a list of the known beauty standards of different cultures across the archipelago.

Hapšâw

Men

Tall men of a slimmer statue are considered to be attractive, however they are still expected to have well developed muscles, a lanky physique being seen as ugly. Long arms, legs, horns and fingers are all desirable in men.

Women

Tall women are also seen as more attractive than short women. A thin waist is desirable. Large eyes are seen as attractive. The nose should be either tall and narrow, or small, a wide nose is not seen as attractive. Horns which curve inward considerably are considered especially beautiful, but are not common, most only having a slight curve.

Shared

Among both genders long hair is seen as a symbol of higher status and therefore desirable, this is more prevalent among older generations, no uniform preference for hair length exists among younger Hapšâw'l.

T'vaqi

As intelligence is prized in T'vaqi, haircuts which reveal the forehead are considered attractive. Though hair loss affects a high number of the island's citizens, baldness is generally not considered a desirable trait.
