Dzeyya Lumber Company
More actions
The Dzeyya Lumber Company (Hapšâw'l: Dzeyyal ViksiGal Malka, DVGM) is a corporate entity present in the Kingdom of Hapšâw. It serves as the nation's primary supplier of lumber and wood material.
Operation
The DVGM legally employs every non-urban Dzeyyal person on the island of Hapšâw, as defined by the HIŝl Agreement. It owns and governs over virtually all land in the HIŝl'l Lêyây which is not part of a bayn or under the Bureau of Industry's direct control (such as mines or quarries), the DVGM itself is owned entirely by the BoI, which has the power to appoint and dismiss it's leader, who serves as a way to facilitate communication between the company's employees and the BoI. Despite this arrangement most of the DVGM's employees are largely left to their own devices and are allowed self-governance among themselves as long as the BoI imposed quota of lumber (which is set per ⅓ of a period, or 40 days) is fulfilled, so far the quota has been met every time. The DVGM also employs a small number of non-dzeyyal employees, mostly as accountants, managers and translators.
History
The DVGM was established in 79 PC during negotiations between the dzeyyal, particularly those led by Ararōna, and the governments of Hapšâw and, to a lesser extent, T'vaqi. It has since operated without major issues. In 85 PC it's lands which fell outside of the HIišl'l Lêyây were handed over to the lêyâys and kalgulpons in which they were located, a relatively minor change.
