Around 1823 TT the Amarken got into a skirmish with forces from the Andu Kur. During the fight one of the Andu Kurrians stabbed Harmak in the groin with a small blade. Though Harmok survived he suffered a terrible infection that ultimately left him infertile. During the course of the attack Hatmak's only son Ambat was also injured and left with a permanent limp.
At some point in late 1800 TT Harmak's cousin and Leader of the Arkaran, Yandak was killed whilst chasing down a group of Andu Kur raiders. On 2-1-1799 TT Yandak's son Kadar was named leader of the Arkaran. During his first year as leader Kadar atempted to form an aliance with Harmak and his people. Harmak declined as he feard that the youthful Kadar would try to overthrow him. The following year increased Andu Kur raids promted Harmak to form an aliance with Kadar on 24-4-1798 TT.
The ageing Harmak died on 24-9-1795 TT.

Three days after his death Harmak's son Ambat proclaimed himself leader of the Amarken. Kadar challenged the proclamation under the right of blood. The two engaged in a duel with Kadar killing Ambat and being recognised as the leader of the Amarken.
