Mahant

Mahant is a role in the Modhes Temple Hirarchy. Mahants serve as middle-high ranking administrators of the branches and departments of ministries run by Ayatollahs, or regional ministries in subservience to High Priests. The title of Mahant does not inherently bestow any direct role upon a priest, rather signifing a symbolic rise in status, typically correlated with real promotion within a department. Mahanthood can be bestowed either by High Priests or by Ayatollahs, under advisement by higher regulation.
