Marco Miglio di Padeno (9-9 69 TT – 5-2 4 TT) was a Rossan banker and amateur archaeologist, responsible for the discovery of the Montesuvian Pottery, the current oldest trace of civilization found on the island. A banker by trade, and member of the Miglio family from Padeno, he had self-financed all of his expeditions prior to the discovery. Gaining island-wide notoriety after the ceramics were dated by the University of Padeno, to which they were donated to, he would become a leading archaeological voice, despite a lack of educated expertise. Although respected as a self-taught man in the years after the discovery, his statements during his later years would begin to boldly stray away from scientific consensus, and make claims of an ancient civilization visiting the island from beyond the storm, bringing development to the island. With the accuracy of his statements often joked to be "one-in-a-million", he would be mocked within academia with the nickname Miglione.

Although he did not receive any formal invitation to hold a lecture about the field at any major university after 17 TT, he would remain active until his death, although only among fringe circles of believers of his theories. Retiring from his banking career in 15 TT in order to pursue his theories full time, he would use his family's influence to publish a book using the nation's state-owned printing presses. Receiving a small, but dedicating following, Beyond the Storm would see a surge in popularity after the Second Calming.
