Mesatalite (Hapšâw'l: mêsâtâriti - translucent board) is a type of plastic produced on the island of Hapšâw. It was first produced in 86 PC.
Properties
The material is very stiff and somewhat brittle, a 5mm thick piece of mesatalite can be snapped by an adult man. Mesatalite is somewhat translucent but is cloudy and not fully transparent, it can be easily colored during production. A thermosetting material, it takes the form of a thick semi-transparent resin before curing, which occurs at temperatures exceeding 82°C, though 130°C or higher is recommended to prevent defects.
