Oceanic Council
The Oceanic Council is the highest governing body of the Weer Kadrike.
History
The Oceanic Council was established on 22-10 1939 TT with the creation of the Weer Nation. When it was first made the Oceanic Council was made up of the seventeen lords of the Weer Nation's seventeen constituent fishing villages.
The Weer Nation became a vassal of the Andu Kur on 8-11 1907 TT. The Andu Kur forcibly relocated the Oceanic Council to Manser on 14-5 1884 TT with the hope that they would govern their country better if they moved around less. On 13-10 1860 TT the Oceanic Council voted to begin secretly researching weapons technology to allow them to break free of the Andu Kur's authority. On 1-1 1790 TT the Weer Nation launched an attack against the Andu Kur and fought a war that ended on 11-9 1787 TT with the Andu Kur recognising the Weer Nation's sovereignty.
Following the war the Weer Army began demanding representation in the Oceanic Council. On 12-1 1785 TT the Oceanic Council, facing a civil war, granted the officers of the Weer Army the right to elect a member to the Oceanic Council. This was repeated on 24-4 1785 TT with non-officer members of the army. As time went on more jobs were granted the right to elect members to the Oceanic Council. On 26-4 1735 TT the Oceanic Council, now filled with elected positions voted to merge the seats of the seventeen lords into one seat elected in the same manner as the other seats.
The Akarinian Confederation was officially reorganised as the Kingdom of Akaria on 19-1 1196 TT through Matart's 227th Dictate which also transformed the Weer Nation, long a member of the Akarianian Confederation into the Weer Kadrike. The Oceanic Council remained uninterrupted during this.
