LS: This is La Sentinella callling for N.R. Il Campanaro. LS calling for NRIC. Repeat, LS calling for NRIC. Over.
IC: We can hear you, La Sentinella. What is the reason for your call? Over.
LS: We seem to have spotted an Utlian vessel approaching HoL waters. Markings unclear, but the model seems unmistakable. Are the Utlians deployed in the north? Over.
IC: We have no information on any deployment or exercises in international waters. It could possibly have gone unreported. Feel free to ignore sighting. Over.
LS: Madam, the ship is continuing to approach us. The name and the markings seem to have been scraped off. The ship isn't displaying any sort of flag. Over.
IC: Maybe it is a stolen vessel. Perhaps it was taken by the Qoeul-bo at some point in the past. You've been cleared to investigate. Over.
LS: They seem to be raising up a flag. I can barely make it out, but it seems to be ours? It's waving strangely in the wind, as if it's not made out of cloth. Over.
IC: Engage if you believe you are ready. Marking down current location. Over.
LS: Understood, command. Over.
---
[On a ship with scraped Utlian markings.]
[[[Dux Barozzo:]]] Wave the flag higher, you idiots! They won't see us otherwise!
[Murmur among the crew, of which "It's been raised as high as it can go, fat man." is just barely audible.]
[[[Dux Barozzo:]]] You'll all turn as fat as I am when we finally land on shore! Do you still doubt everything I've told you? [He takes a spyglass and shoves it into the hands of a [[[Mzun]]].] Look at that flag of theirs. There, there, in the back, the blue-white-and-red. It's ours. We've finally reached them!
---
[The patrol ship La Sentinella moves towards the spotted vessel. It begins to circle around the slow-moving Utlian giant.]
LS: [In Utyis, through a megaphone]. This is the Rossan ship La Sentinella! State your purpose for being in these waters!
---
[[[Dux Barozzo:]]] What sort of babble are they talking in?
[[[Maggiore Merconi]]]: Signore Dux, it is Utlian. Like Syenter and his men speak in.
[[[Dux Barozzo:]]] Oh, damn it, I know what tongue that mountain hog speaks in! Why are ours speaking in it too?
[[[Maggiore Merconi]]]: I believe they think we're Utlians, Signore.
[[[Dux Barozzo:]]] Convince them otherwise, then!
---
LS: [In Utyis, with a megaphone.] We repeat once again! State your purpose for being in these waters! We have been authorized to board the vessel if no answer is given!
[[[Maggiore Merconi]]]: Basta! Basta! [In Rossan, shouting.] We are Rossans!
LS: [Rossan.] Now what are they doing?
---
[[[Maggiore Merconi]]]: Signore Dux, I believe they are climbing now.
[[[Dux Barozzo:]]] Oh? Oh! Incredible, marvellous! Finally, someone I can speak to! Merconi, you have deserved your Advisorship for life, when we get back on La Rossa I will secure you the Palace in Salino for as long as you-
[Rossan soldiers climb up onto the ship.]
[[[Dux Barozzo:]]] Gentlemen! Signori! Your salvation has returned!
Soldato #1: [Whispering to #2.] What is he talking about? Who is he?
Soldato #2: [Whispering.] What do I know? Stop looking at the old man, take a look around.
[They both notice the crew of bat-like creatures that surrounds them.]
Dux Barozzo: Well? Don't you recognize me?
---
LS: This is LS calling for NRIC. Over.
IC: We can hear you. Over.
LS: We need back-up with the spotted vessel. We have had a short conversation with the people on board. Some of them seem to be Rossans. The other ones are the ugliest SOBs I have seen in my life, but seem to be fairly sentient. They are currently under the presumption that we will safely escort them to the coast. The crew has not gone violent yet but seems to have potential to do so. Over.
IC: Noted. It is not the Qoeul-bo, in that case? Over.
LS: We believe not, though we are not sure what exactly they are. Their leader presented themselves as, and I quote, "Dux Vincenzo Barozzo di Toconoprach". Over.
IC: Hasn't he been lost at sea? He has been declared dead years ago. Over.
LS: That's what I thought. I don't know what to think of it. It's probably some crazed old guy. I am good with faces, usually. He doesn't ring a bell as a Dux should. Over.
IC: Understood. We will be joining you shortly, La Sentinella. Over.
