Tsikada

Tsikada (Hapšâw'l - cicada) is a chain of gas stations operating on the island of Hapšâw. Funded in 74 PC, it was a venture of the the Bureau of Industry, which owned a controlling portion of the company's shares until 29-4 of 77 PC, when it, alongside the majority of the BoInd's holdings were sold off. It is currently a publicly traded company, with Lay'l Hêbân at it's helm. As of late 77 PC it was the eighth most valuable company on the Hapšâw Exchange.

Description

Tsikadas are scattered along the roads connecting the settlements of Hapšâw. A typical location will include two or more gas pumps, alongside a small building housing the employee and the store section, where one can buy food or drinks. Some sites also staff a mechanic, who is able to perform less complicated maintenance on motorcycles. The chain typically hires young workers from rural towns, serving as a way for them to earn a wage without the need to move to a larger city.

Originally known just as Motorcycle Fueling Stations, or MoYeNaws for short, the name was changed to Tsikada shortly after being sold by the BoInd. The name was chosen due to the insects' widespread presence in the rural parts of Hapšâw. Moyenaw remains a commonly used way to refer to the franchise.

Since Hêbân's ascention to the position as the leader of the company many locations have been expanded to include a simple kitchen, allowing for the serving of warm meals. Some of the locations also include an ice cream machine, which are comparatively rare on the island, causing some customers to travel to these locations purely to try the ice cream. Currently the largest location is placed near Niwsiti.
