Umberto Buoni (6-1 13 TT - 11-2 61 PC) was a Rossan artist and political activist, most recognized for his contributions to the art of colscritto. Rising to fame in the 20s PC as part of the emerging Patriota art movement in Salino, he is one of the most famed artists of the Denunzian period, and one of the signature definers of the post-Calming national identity emerging in La Rossa. Taking great inspiration from some of the earliest signs of human artistry on the island, he would begin to merge it with modern aesthetics to offer a vision of a shared through-line between the present and the people living on the island prior to even the emergence of recorded history.
While not in any way organized, he would come to be seen as one of the spearheading figures of Patriota, leading to many adopting the new national identity La Rossa has been given. Giving his pieces what were at first glance superficially unrelated names, they tended to reference national symbols and points of distinction in comparison towards other islands. He has attracted controversy during his life, due to his overt nationalism and contempt for the other islands of the archipelago, as well as his long lasting support of political radicals, such as Antonio Morobaldi. He died in his home, surrounding by his wife and children, at the age of 74.
