Vittoria

Vittoria is an overseas island territory under the jurisdiction of the Republic of La Rossa. Although it was promised to the Republic in the terms of victory in the aftermath of the War in Niueyjar, the island in reality remained in the hands of the militarist, Libelist NAFDAC, and few moves were made to take control of the island. Taken over during the War on NAFDAC, La Rossa assumed occupation of the territory following withdrawal of WATC mercenary troops. Following skirmishes with the TUN, the island was fully taken over, and has remained in Rossan hands since.

The island holds a disputed status in international affairs, as it was unclear whether it legally belonged under the jurisdiction of the CNN or Nongba. Following deteriorating conditions on both islands, the unnamed landmass would eventually be taken over by loyalist elements in the NAFDAC, remaining in their control for almost two decades between 56 PC to 75 PC. The TUN has not formally accepted the peace agreement which ended the war on NAFDAC, but the House of Light has issued recognition of the island as Rossan territory.

The island is home to a military base, which is housed by soldiers of the Rossan Armed Forces and their families. Several businesses have opened on the island to serve the soldier population, ranging from stores to restaurants. Vittoria exists in a unique legal gray area, as the island technically does not belong to any Rossan city-province, and is not subject to any regional taxes, allowing for freer business to take place. It currently has no local government, and is subject directly to the Dux, though the residents hold onto voting rights. Due to distance from the mainland, the residents are required to vote several days early, as to allow the ballots to reach the Republic's mainland to be certified.
