Utlian East Ocean Territory

The Utlian East Ocean Territory (EOC) is an island province of the Republic of Utlia located in the Eastern Ocean. The province has many small whaling stations but only the capital of Shote-Ut could be considered a city.

History

The land that would become the EOC was uninhabited until a group of explorers, funded by the Utlian government and led by Ishmaelyyme discovered the islands during the same trip that discovered the East Ocean itself. The group setup a settlement on the first plot of land they arrived on. The land would eventually become the provinces capital, Shote-Ut. Upon the discovery that the waters around the isolated islands were heavily inhabited by whales, the group rushed back to mainland Utlia. When the group returned, they told of the economic boon it would have for Utlia and were given funding to go back and set up whaling outposts, as well as to claim land for the republic.

Geography

The province has 3 main islands, the largest and least populous being Grylbo Island, named for the Grylbos, an Utlian native animal. The second largest island is Liamia Island, which was the first discovered and the only one with a city on it.
