Direnomut

Direnomut is the least populated province of Utlia and contains no major cities. The province was the last to be fully inhabited due to its dense bogs and low natural resources. Direnomut is named after the river Direnomount and is the poorest province in the Republic.

History

Pre-unification

before the grand unification, Direnomut was uninhabited apart from a small section in the far south of the province that was a part of the Frish Kingdom

Post-unification

After the unification the Azztan Annexation began, which saw the now united Azztanist Eutan and Frish kingdoms taking over the non controlled parts of the island, including many city-states. The first land taken was Direnomut, due to its little population there was no resistance.

Geography

Direnomut is the location of the Dire Bogs, an eco-region unique in that is the only bog or marshland on the island, it stretches across the province east west. The Dire Bogs are full of large bugs and amphibians like 3-Horned Frogs and Crab-Eating Mosquitos. The river Direnomount runs through the province north south, its source being the mountains to the north of the province.

Culture

Direnomut has become known as "The Utlian Backwater" due to its swamps and bogs, lower standard of living and little political power. Fried Eel is a local meal popular with the native population.

The largest power plant in Utlia, Ursen-Nuclear is located in southeastern Direnomut, this is a pride for many in the province, despite the incredible dangerous working conditions compared to other plants across Utlia
