The March of Us Savage Warriors is the official anthem of Modhes Millitaria. It achieved prominance in the Luminary War as a common tune among Deysachni soldiers, due to it's repetetive nature and comedic lyrics.
History
The March's origins as a folk song are unknown, and it may have been a bar song for many years prior to the calming, with different lyrics that likely would have referenced the Modhesian Conquests. The first known reference to it occurs in the journal of Gesag Tsormadnih during the Nongban civil war. While he does not refer to it by name, he mentions his men chanting "a foolish, rhythmic, self depricating jaunt that gets stuck in ones ears".
The song achievewd widespread popularity among soldiers during the Luminary War in Niueyjar. It was rumored among soliders that it had been written by Puengtifekh Owdrvs, though this was later found to not be true, though he is himself a fan of it.
Owing to it's popularity, Modhes Millitaria adopted it as their official anthem on xx-xx 61 PC.
Instrumentation
In it's simplist form, The March can be preformed with just a Djoemieng and any form of precussion. When preformed officially, it is intended to be with a Lugdmieng playing the lead riff and Sronmieng playing accents atop, with an 18-piece precussive set. Unusually for a Deysachni song, it is in 4/4 time.
Lyrics
Seen 'em standin' mighty tall, stuffed wide with Dhaas and ales
Heathens clad in platinum have been known to suffer flails
Sweat is beating on the brow, foes running for the hill
'Cause us brutish savage warriors
Lumber towards the kill
[interlude]
I knew a man who cut his arm, he cut it mighty thick
His blood boiled and he ran out screamin' somethin' sick
He came back smiling, dragging fifteen collected dead
'Cause us brutish savage warriors
Have nothing in our heads
Hey-yuh
[interlude]
Now the House of Light brought us good men, of the merciful type
But we've got no use for them, because we do it right
We're crazy violent bastards and we burn things to the ground
'Cause us brutish savage warriors
Are Modhes Ywl's rabid hound
Hey-yuh
Hey-yuh
Hey-yuh!
Hey-yuh!
Hey-yuh!
Yeah-Yeah-Yeah!
[interlude and Sronmieng solo]
Now the flame that burns twice as strong leaves only half the ash
So sit back and have a cup o' dhaas and watch the good boys slash
My eyes are growing weary as I finalize this song
'Cause us brutish savage warriors
We keep the temple runnin' strong
Hey-yuh
Hey-yuh
Hey-yuh!
Hey-yuh!
Hey-yuh!
Yeah-Yeah-Yeah!
