Adeysa (StDe, roughly "Old One-Land") was a mythic landmass, which appears in Deysachni religion. It is said that Adeysa was the land which was created at the dawn of time, and which humans inhabited in an anciant age where most Deysachni myths are set. The rise of Sasatanl'c religion lead in some way to the destruction of Adeysa, an event which marks the split between Deysachin's mythic pre-history and semi-mythic early history. Adeysa is considered by historians to be purely mythic, a Fall-From-Grace allegorical device representing an idyllic simple age prior to a complex modern one. The Modhes hold that all of Attu consists of the fragments of Adeysa.

Creation & Origin Myths

Upon the successful creation of the world in the year -3907, the grain god Ghusuhr proclaimed that a celebration was in order, to which the rest of the gods agreed. The celebration in the heavens lasted for a month, and on the fifth day of the fifth week, Ghusur, in a state of deep inebriation, urinated upon the entirety of Adeysa, creating all of the many bogs. Upon waking up hungover the next day, the rest of the gods discovered what Ghusur had done, and sentenced him to be flogged for 62 years. This story is given as explanation of why agriculture was not invented until 63 years after humanity was created, as Ghusuhr needed a year to recover from his wounds.

The creation of the first humans followed this, an event on which accounts differ. All save for Pseudo-N'shadn give that humanity was created as a group, with Pseudo-N'shadn's differing account (that the gods first made a single man as a test, then produced a group, angering the first to the point of his being cast out) likely being a later addition by Mn'krapanti to connect their mythos to history. Ynnregan, Moln'enrkai, and Re'kam Rey'd state that humanity was created as group of both sexes, and were told by each of the gods the nature and purpose of living, whilst Turpulis, Yiunger The Elder, and Ylamnyo write of only man being created, with women created as a means of reproduction. It is unclear which origin story is the older of the two, as both occur in near equal number across the historical record, but Modhes scholars side with the former.

Following the creation of humanity came "a lifetime" (63 years in the Deysachni Calendar) of nomadism and hunter-gatherer life, during which each of the gifts of the gods were discovered by humanity, last of which being agriculture. The invention of agriculture led to "two lifetimes" (106 years in the calendar) of local small scale farming communities. It is said that at the end of these three lifetimes, in the year -3738, came the formation of the first civilization, when a dispute between two farmers, Yul and Mur, could not be resolved, and, as both men were good friends and unwilling to kill one another over it, they continued arguing, bringing the rest of people of the area into it. Another man, named Ctestos, who was not well at farming but was considered wise, mediated a compromise among the two men, resolving the dispute peacefully. The people of the area would then continually come to Ctestos to settle their grievances, instead of simply resorting to violence. Ctestos is thus considered to have been the first tribe leader, and the event as the formation of the first society.

Such events are said to have occured across Adeysa, leading to the slow emergence of a network of citystates, connected by a loose priesthood. The farthest back any geneology stretches is to -3641, with Ysgreldsah of Hv'shea, and the earliest legends are set in the mid -4th millenium.
