Death Decree of 53 PC

The Death Decree of 53 PC was a legal proposal passed unanimously by the T'vaqi Grand Council on 17-9 53 PC. The amendment declared that Grand Magister elections would only be held in the event of a current Grand Magister's death, thus abolishing the nation's tri-annual elections. The law is notable for being the first proposal passed after T'vaqi made official contact with the Attu Archipelago. It first saw use in 55 PC following the death of Arav Ila, with Loqa Pili being elected as her successor. An addendum was added to the law in 58 PC which allowed elections to take place in the event of a Grand Magister's retirement, eliminating a technicality that would have forced any Grand Magisters to retain their positions until death.
