Biography

Early life

Amkoi Deram was born in Durantum, Kingdom of Akaria. At the time of his birth, his grandfather Hekur was the Leader of the Deram. Tomoghok, Amkoi's father became Leader of Deram on 17-2 1075 TT, three days after his grandfather's death. Amkoi became Leader of the Deram on 4-10 1044 TT, three days after his own father's death.

6th Living election

Living King Bonoi Deram's death on 27-6 1035 TT triggered the 6th Living Election. Prior to his death, Bonoi had been preparing his son Korkatui to succeed him as Living King. Instead on 3-7 1035 TT Amkoi, Kortatui's second cousin was elected Living King. Today it is believed that the ossbosches were worried that Kortatui had been spending too much time among the Deram and elected Amkoi, whose position as the Leader of the Deram meant that he was already well versed in Akarian politics.
