The Brisa Strait is the channel of water between the islands of Brisa and Casea.
Geography
The Brisa strait is approximately 10 km across on average. In terms of climate, it is mostly tropical.
History
The strait is an unusual body of water in that it was not affected by the perpetual storm before the Grand Calming, and was thereby possible to cross before then. This lead to the development of trade routes across the strait, estimated to have arisen during the Forgotten Era around 2500 TT. The most prominent of these trade routes was between Nisi and Jiricaya, which caused those cities to grow large.
The calmness of the strait also lead to pre-Calming developments of ships fit for the seas, giving the Caseic Federation an early start when exploring sea routes in the archipelago.
