Eiyye Ivo

From Attu Project
Eie-vi, the official mascot of the Eiyye Ivo brand.

Eiyye Ivo (New Eiyye) is a sap-based beverage sold in the Nation of T'vaqi. It was introduced in 82 PC as a non-intoxicant alternative to traditional Utlian eiyye.

Distribution

In mid-82 PC, Grand Magister Piqo Thipoqo greenlit the distribution and sale of ordinary eiyye in T'vaqi, skipping the review process typical for such an import. Eiyye was thus not classed as a drug despite its intoxicant properties. Only days later, eiyye was declared an illegal intoxicant and was pulled from shelves. Eiyye Ivo, a non-alcoholic version of the beverage compliant with T'vaqi substance laws, was formulated and distributed in its place.

Manufacturing

The manufacturing process for Eiyye Ivo is nearly identical to that of ordinary eiyye, both being derived from the sap of Eiy trees. The main difference is that Eiyye Ivo is fermented for a much shorter time, preventing the buildup of alcohol. After fermentation, bitter compounds are added to replicate the taste of ordinary eiyye. The taste of the two beverages have been described as nearly identical, though Eiyye Ivo is lighter in color and of a thicker consistency.

Marketing

Most marketing for Eiyye Ivo is done via advertisements featuring the brand's own mascot, a pink-skinned dwarf-like creature named Eie-vi. The character is popular among children and younger adults.
