The Giornale Economico is a Rossan state-owned daily newspaper reporting on economic data. Established as a weekly paper in 46 TT by Dux Patrizio Morelio di Lorma in a wider effort to regulate the economy after a recession in the years prior, the journal was established to report high-quality data about the state of the Rossan economy. With the goal of establishing higher market efficiency, the Giornale was the first legally printed newspaper to report on the totality of the nation's market trends, meant to regularly update the island's investors.
With the success of the newspaper, a wider effort was placed upon printing it nationwide. Transitioning from a weekly to a daily format in 38 TT, the paper publishes a special edition at the end of each week that summarizes and contextualizes the events on the market of the prior week. Despite the control the Rossan state holds over the press, the journal is considered to be widely accurate, and has remained editorially independent throughout the several reigns of Duxes that took over after its original publishing.
The paper has reported the national GDP, as well as GDP per capita (average and median) since 25 TT. Although preliminary reports are made monthly, in reference to the period ending two months before publication, finalized annual updates are only published each year on 2-7, coinciding with the coronation day of elected Duxes every two years.
