Translation of the front cover:

Factories Distributed! A decree put out by Dux Giulio Moretti last evening aims to redistribute power from the Six Families that have historically held great portions of wealth on the island. In contrast with the Dux previous actions, the latest decree by the Dux did not move to centralize power in the institutions of government, but rather moved to give democratic power to the workers and employees of the Families themselves. Creating and distributing voting shares of Family-owned companies, employees across 37 affected companies will exercise three-quarters of the control over their workplace's finances and profits.

The move saw a number of critics. The Mare party has been quick to oppose the act, with two of its elected Advisors both sending their votes of opposition to the Dux. Advisor Gabriella Tritone opposed the move on different grounds, stating that although she agreed in principle, she stood firm in her promise to oppose any new decree before immigration reform is implemented. Despite expectations of a veto, Advisor Marone did not vote against the act, allowing it to pass. Regardless, the move remains highly polarizing.

Markets have experienced similar shocks. The publicly traded stocks of 34 of the affected companies have experienced a drop in value yesterday evening, with lower than expected growth seen in the remaining three. Union leaders representing the workers of several of the companies (including Minestrici Shipyards, Barozzo Metallurgy and Refining, and Buonestrotti Automation) have expressed optimism, however, stating that despite the opposition, they remain confident that this was the right step, one which they state they will use to push for meaningful changes in the rights of workers on the island.
