Lawyer

From Attu Project

A lawyer is a person who practices law. Lawyers exist in Akaria, Haute eee and the Caseic Federation. Their roles vary from place to place, but primarily involve the operation of the legal systems within their respective places.

Caseic Federation

Lawyers are a necessary component of the bureaucracy of the Caseic Federation. Without lawyers to regulate trade amongst the Federation's states, the economic stability of the Federation would fall out of control.

The criminal courts of Haute eee has a distinct lack of lawyers due to the Book of Consequence, whereby court outcomes are determined on an objective basis. Lawyers are solely used in civil law cases, although such courts had not been established until 7 PC in Siô eee. After the two countries merged, Haute eee adopted Siô eee's civil court system.

Deysachin

Deysachin does not have lawyers insomuch as law Gurus. These are individuals who are knowledgable in the workings of religious and secular law, and whom debate eachother in trials, like lawyers, but are treated as being a type of scholar rather than one providing a service. Law in deysachin is treated as a philosophical debate, and is much looser and flexible than in other places. Religious law is completely seperate, and is instead debated among priests.
