Biography
Early life
Mokopt Arka was born into poverty in Okenate.
In late 4 PC, Living King, Harakar Oken agreed to send 40,000 Akarians to Haute eee to try and resolve the 3rd Hautean Agricultural Crisis. Many of Oksken's lower class, including Mokopt and much of her family were hired for this purpose. They arrived at Haute eee on 14-9 4 PC where they were put to work as farmers
Founding of the Karinian Star
Mokopt Arka was paid very little for her work as a farmer as most of her wage came in the form of "land packets". Mokopt established the Karinian Star, a newspaper, to supplement her income. She marketed her newspaper to the 1,500 Karinian agricultural experts that were brought over, who were more than happy to pay for a paper covering Akarian topics. After the first harvest the wages they were paid ended as the farmers now owned all the land they were farming on and were themselves able to buy the Karinian Star. This new income allowed Mokopt to end her career as a farmer and to begin to expand her newspaper.
Assassination
On 8-1 14 PC the Karinian Star published a piece claiming that mass protests and riots against Harakar Oken had begun in 12 PC and were suppressed by Harakar through Harakar's 7th Dictate. On 11-1 14 PC, Mokopt Arka was killed by agents of Harakar's father Johnakar Oken. The Karinian Star reported her missing on 15-1 14 PC with some opinion pieces published by the Karinian Star speculating that Harakar was behind the disappearance. On 20-1 14 PC, the Oken-owned Adar Daily reported that before her disappearance Mokopt was involved in an affair with an Utlian man and speculated that she had gone with him to Utlia.
The Arkara released a document on 12-3 18 PC containing evidence that Mokopt, and several other prominant figures had been assassinated under the orders of Johnakar Oken.
