Ocmek Sufsulahstwg

From Attu Project

Ocmek Sufsulahstwg is a town in Ojjikwi Cliffs Province, Deysachin. It has a population of 1300, and is haunted by the spirit of a mutant goat.

History

On 11-8 48 PC, Deysachin donated the mountain known as Dry Man's Peak, along with Gulugulu and Shialmug'dugh, to Kalam, an offer which Kalam accepted. The hole left after Dry Man's Peak was extracted from Deysachin was alloted to be made into a city, Ocmek Sufsulahstwg. Following a reappraisal of the provincial budget and public interest, the project was scaled back to a town in 49 PC. Terraformation completed on 9-5 52 PC, and the town was opened to the arrival of settlers.

Ctierf The Mountain Goat

On 6-3 75 PC, 14 year old Shobalbao Uldu noticed a local mountain goat with three horns and a crooked leg struggling to climb up a rocky hill. Udlu told his parents of the goat, who then took it in and adopted it as their own. Nicknamed Ctierf (a play on "ctirufewg", a native word meaning "lopsided"), the goat became a local attraction due to its unsual appearance and behavior. Due to the misshapen leg, Ctierf's gait had a heavy limp, yet in spite of this it would constantly run around as fast it could, appearing to rapidly bob up and down. The lopsided weight of the additional horn also made Ctierf's head bob up and down seperately, giving overall the appearance that Ctierf was a sort of living sine wave.

Ctierf passed away on 18-8 82 PC, having long outlived the town's expectations of its lifespan given its condition. The town mourned Ctierf, with the local priest declaring a day of grieving and rest. Three weeks after Ctierf's passing, however, the now 22 year old Shobalbao claimed to have seen his spirit wandering in the night, eating the ghosts of grass. The next day, a rockslide decimated the main road in and out of town. While this was initially ignored by the community, four more sightings would occur over the following months, each quickly followed by a seemingly unrelated misfortune, ranging from a wildfire to a tax hike. Locals have taken to a number of rituals to attempt to communcate with, please, or banish the spirit, to no avail at time of writing. It is unclear why Ctierf is terrorizing the town, though some allege that the spiritgoat is actually benevolent, warning of tragedy before it occurs. Skeptics claim that the sightings are merely a willful mass delusion, and that the distasters can all be chalked up to a poor economic situation for the town and impromper maintanance of terraformation. Modhes Temple has yet to make a ruling on the existance of the frightful specter.
