The Skrake hat is type of hat historically worn by members of the Skrake kadrike. Skrake hats are conical frustums with small holes at the top. The wearer's hair is packed into the hat and forced out through the hole at the top, creating a small ponytail.
History
Ancient
The Skrake hat was first worn by Leader of the Skrake Partok Skrake in the late 1500s TT. Partok's hat was passed down through leaders until sometime in the 1200s, where it was believed to have been stolen by a member of the Perat and placed as a piece of the Andu Wall. The oldest surviving Skrake hat is dated to the early 1100s, likely worn by Yartan Skrake, the father of Katok Skrake. It is currently on display in the Skrake Hall in Saeskar.
Modern
In modern times, Skrake hats are considered old-fashioned. Skrake hats are not worn by most modern members of the Skrake, since Skrake baldness prevents them from having enough hair.
