The Meeting of the Broom Closets is a theatrical play first performed in 1 PC in Niueyjar. After its initial performance, it rose in popularity due to the presence of Heidr Gullveigdaughter. Many variations of the play exist, in many cases replacing cultural references to adapt to the local audience.
Synopsis
In the original version of the play, Broom Freyason of Clan Ostag picks up a set of brooms and places them on the pedestal. Vidar the churg then runs up and starts sweeping with a broom. After some brief conversation, Vidar starts chasing a rock, and the children of Clan Ostag begin sweeping the soil. Vidar, who had been killed in a missile strike before being reincarnated as a churg, is interrupted by the entrance of the Jhnitor. Broom Freyason then informs the Jhnitor that it is the 1st Annual 246th Annual Broom Festival. The Jhnitor appreciates Broom Freyason's enthusiasm for brooms, but is interrupted by Vidar, who is hungry. The Jhnitor provides the churg with an empty packet labelled "Churg Jerky", which Vidar enjoys. The Jhnitor is then toppled over, before Broom Freyason reveals that he ordered Chinese food from a new restaurant. After some conversation about society's lack of respect for broomers, Broom Freyason shows the Jhnitor his broom collection as they wait for the Chinese food. Eventually, the food arrives. Broom Freyason continues showing the Jhnitor his broom collection while they eat. Broom Freyason later leads the Jhnitor down a dark hallway, leading to an open grave. Vidar hops into the grave, then takes out a dismembered foot. On this note, the play ends and the curtains fall.
Variations
As the play gained popularity, multiple variations began to emerge. One variation introduces a character named "Frey Broomason" who acts as an evil foil to Broom Freyason. Another variation introduces a love triangle between Broom Freyason, the Jhnitor, and the food deliveryman. When the play is performed in Akaria, the line referring to "Akarian Forest fuckers" is omitted. When the play is performed in the Caseic Archipelago, the character of Vidar the churg is traditionally cast as a horse, but still referred to as "churg" by the characters.
Legacy
Nyhttôn a'Ryukurds Letauk, author of The Ways of the Calawo, referred to The Meeting of the Broom Closets as his favorite play, and said it was the greatest inpiration for his work.
