Biography
Grand Calming
Vidar Astridson, as the sitting Calif of Clan Erak helped to form the Inter-governmental Radio System on 18-2 1 PC and named himself the Self Appointed Diplomat of the Nation of Niuyjar.
Niueyjara Civil War
The Niueyjara Civil War began on 14-3 1 PC when the Emperor Olaf Fredradaughter and their family were assassinated by the Reformers, leaving the throne empty and with no clear line of succession. Vidar Astridson took on the role of de facto leader of the Traditionalists and used his position as Niueyjar's representative on the Inter-governmental Radio System attempted to hide the war from the outside world by claiming that Niueyjar was experiencing protests.
The Reformers launched an attack on Erak on 15-5 2 PC, which Clan Erak, under Vidar's direct leadership, managed to repulse. Docked at the city's port during the attack was an Utlian ship which had been delivering Utlian Mor Crabs to Vidar. To prevent knowledge of the civil war from spreading off the island Vidar had the ship impounded and the Utlia and the sailors detained in Ostag Prison. Vidar told the leaders of Akaria and Utlia that there had been an earthquake and the sailors were being treated, neither country believed this and began Operation Crab Rescue in secret to extract the Utlians. The first wing of the Akarian-Utlian strikeforce was sighted by Clan Erak on 18-5 2 PC as it was approaching Erak, this flung Vidar into a rage as he believed that they were disturbing the Cravik and not knowing who owned the ships Vidar made death threats and accusations to everyone on the Inter-governmental Radio System. The noise he produced led to the death of Gap Kutipir. The first wing landed in Erak on 18-5 2 PC, the second wing landed on Niueyjar the next day and made their way to the Ostag Prison where they freed the captive sailors along with several hundred other prisoners and were extracted on 20-5 2 PC. The Akarian-Utlian Alliance publicly revealed their involvment after the rescue.
On 7-3 4 PC the forces of Clan Helgen fired seven Akarian-made omtarre missiles at Erak. Vidar was killed during the bombardment along with thousands of civilians.
Spirit
On 12-3 18 PC, the Arkara of Akaria released a document containing evidence that Johnakar Oken – the late father of Living King, Harakar Oken – had ordered the deaths of several notable figures across the Attu Archipelago including Vidar Astridson which led to an increase of tensions between the Eastern Bloc and the Confederated Nations of Niueyjar (CNN). On 7-5 18 PC the Council of Directors of the Confederated Nations of Niueyjar (CODCNN) completed the Ritual of Andean and brought Vidar Astridson back as a spirit to serve as the Council Head of the CODCNN to leed them through the ongoing crisis with the Eastern Bloc.
On 2-6 Richard Mobyson of Clan Kustur, Head of the East Confederation Whaling Company reported that he had been forced to flee Amogusolia after an attack by a joint Akarian-Utilian force and that he believed the high command of the Eastern Bloc ordered the attack. In response, Vidar ordered the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th Fleets to join the 1st in patrolling the waters around the CNN while awaiting further orders. He also called an emergency session of the CODCNN with the publicly stated intention of "finally ridding the archipelago of those dragon forsaken fleas".
