Arakar Oken was the first female Leader of the Oken.
Biography
Early life
Arakar Oken was born on 28-6 133 TT to Naikar Oken, Leader of the Oken and Unoi Oken, an Ilksken native.
On 15-6 119 TT –three days after the birth of Arakar's sister Nailar– Naikar issued Oken Dictate 2 of 1668 ACC making the Leader of the Oken an elected title. The dictate created 100 electoral votes, each owned by a member of the Oken, 50 of these were given to Arakar, the other 50 to Nailar. After the death of the Leader of the Oken, the members of the Oken who own votes elect the next Leader of the Oken from among the Oken. It specified that if one with votes was under 20 years of age then their closest living relative could cast their votes for them.
1st Oken Election
Naikar died on 22-1 116 TT triggering the 1st Oken Election. As both Arakar and her sister were under 20 years old, their mother, Unoi Oken, decided who they would choose to elect. On 1-2 116 TT, Arakar Oken was revealed to have won the election and ascended as the first female leader of the Oken.
Akarians hate women
Arakar's election brought quite a deal of outrage throughout the Karin Plain, with many members of the Kadrikes claiming that a woman could not lead a Kadrike. A lesser outrage was attributed to Arakar being 17 years old at the time of her election. On 8-2 116 TT, High Director of the Oken Army, Banchar Oken declared Arakar to be illegitimate and began a revolt against her. Arakar declared her uncle, Minai Dantai to be the new High Director of the Oken Army.
On 15-2 116 TT, Unoi met with Living King, Bantu Arkara in Ablesken to try and argue Arakar's case before him. The meeting went well and on 22-2 116 TT Bantu issued his 25th dictate, recognising Arakar as the Leader of the Oken and recognising the Oken's right to be led by women. The recognition led to a large portion of Banchar's forces defecting to Minai's side which led to his defeat and execution on 9-3 TT 116 TT. After, Arakar gave the assets owned by Banchar and his supporters to Banchar's sister Bakatei Oken.
Death
Arakar died on 4-2 41 TT, triggering the 2nd Oken Election. In her will, each of her sons received 15 of her electoral votes whilst the remaining 5 were given to Bakatei's granddaughter Amilate Oken.
