Utlian bars in La Rossa refer to retail businesses owned by Utlian immigrants to the Republic of La Rossa, primarily to a subset of establishments that serve caffeinated beverages from ground feysum or coffee, in addition to alcohol. In common parlance, they may also refer to any bar establishment that focuses on the sale of coffee, even if they do not have Utlian owners. They rose in popularity in the late 50s PC, though the first documented Utlian bar has opened as far back as 47 PC. Their prominence in the country greatly rose after the Republic of Utlia joined the House of Light, and was further bolstered by economic recovery efforts following the ousting of Dux Vincenzo Barozzo. In addition to this, many Utlians have fled the country in favor of La Rossa during the Second Utlian Civil War and its aftermath, which saw Einru seize control in Utlia.

By 61 PC, more than 80,000 Utlians lived in La Rossa, according to official government statistics. While such establishments were originally created to target smaller local communities of immigrants, it would become apparent the taste of Utlian beverages has captivated a far greater audience when it was shown that sales rose among Rossan natives, allowing their spread across the country. At the start of the 50s, it is believed only 6 such bars existed, spread across the east coast of La Rossa. By the 60s, that number had risen to more than 1,200. Utlians on La Rossa have some of the highest proportions of small-business ownership among all of the different immigrant ethnicities, with as many as 17% of Utlians owning a business. It has been speculated by Rossan sociologists that many Utlians are attracted to the country due to a combination of cultural similarities and free enterprise, which allows many Utlians to establish businesses they haven't able to at home, due to restrictive market laws.

Family members are frequently employed as workers in such establishments, though most people working in Utlian bars tend to be wage employees hired through usual means, and frequently aren't of Utlian origin. With the help of the Rossan government, new Utlian immigrants to the country are frequently helped to find work in smaller Utlian stores and businesses. This is to allow them to find stable flows of income quickly upon entry into the country in familiar environments, but has also led to most bars being staffed by first-generation immigrants from Utlia. Customer-facing environments such as these have incidentally been associated with higher language acquisition, and it is believed that this has allowed Utlian immigrants to be fairly upwardly mobile, and capable of finding work in Rossan-language industries at higher rates.
