Shym Liamia

Shym Liamia was the third Utyr of the Utlian Kingdom and the first female to hold the title. She is most well known for dying to Telan Lung Disease.

Life

Shym was born sometime between 1020 TT and 1030 TT into the Liamia family in Tinlea-Ut. At the age of 6 Shym claimed to have seen a Mertete late one night in a Kelna-Ut home owned by the Liamia family. This encounter has been re-evaluated in modern Utlia as young Shym simply misremembering an attempted breaking and entering.

Rule

During her short reign of only 10 years she was a very popular figure across the island. She was the youngest person to take the throne at that point and after the incredibly controversial rule of Lofse Liamia, people believed she would change Utlia for the better. While the general sentiment around Shym was very positive, she did very little to change policies set in place by Lofse, such as ones pertaining to the Merriyem people.

Death

Shym died in early 990 TT after a royal visit to a hospital stricken with Telan Lung Disease, she did not follow proper procedures during the visit, repeatedly trying to uplift patients despite doctor orders to stay away from anyone showing symptoms of the disease. Two weeks after the visit she was diagnosed with Telan Lung Disease, this was however covered up by the Liamia family, who believed that it would be seen as incompetence on their part. The documents surrounding her treatment and diagnosis were released by Heres Aremt in 661 TT.
