N'isi Temple is a Modhes temple in the T'vaqi city of N'isi. It was the second Modhes temple to be constructed on the island, after Vyitcou Grand Temple in Viqho.
Construction
N'isi Temple was originally built in 31 PC as Spas'vilir Public Observatory, named after Aqali pioneer Mharvin Spas'vilir. The building was composed of three tiers which formed a rough pyramid shape. The third tier was purely decorative. Balconies on the first and second tiers were constructed for skygazing. The observatory saw a steady flow of visitors, but was abandoned five years after its construction due to a lack of funding and upkeep. This is partially attributable to confusion over another observatory also named Spas'vilir Public Observatory, a wholly separate building in Shomivit which had been built in 30 PC. Funds intended for the N'isi observatory were often routed to Shomivit unintentionally.
In 81 PC, Mahant Kguncu'i Achofza began a project to renovate the observatory and transform it into a Modhes temple. With the help and funding of local convertees, the abandoned building was renovated and named N'isi Temple.[1] The most notable changes to the building are the addition of a large, tiered spire at the top and the remodeling of the interior to fit standard Modhes temple requirements.
- ↑ The name N'isi Temple implies it to be a Modhes Grand Temple, which it is not. Achofza nonetheless insisted on the name.
