Early Life
Ila was the great-granddaughter of Moso Ila, a wealthy T'vaqi businessman notable for discovering and subsequently monopolizing the practical applications of silicon in machinery. She inherited a large sum of money from her parents following their deaths at age 15, which she used to fund her education at the High Institute of the Arts. Ila became renowned for being the youngest female Magister in the history of the nation, having been promoted at age 21.
Rule
Ila was elected in 44 PC, serving nine years before the Death Decree of 53 PC. She was regarded as a moderate ruler, able to be swayed by the more extreme Gmr. V'sha and Gmr. Voti. While initially apprehensive towards contact with other islands, she was eventually convinced otherwise by V'sha, leading to a two-thirds majority and the nation's subsequent joining of the IGRS.
Similarly to V'sha, Ila received criticism for her lack of action during the Silicon Rebellion. Ila was the target of the final major attack from the Modhesian Army. The attack, involving an improvised explosive thrown at a negotiation meeting, was unsuccessful; Ila emerged unscathed.
Death
Following a two-week battle with an unknown foreign disease, Ila passed away on 23-1 55 PC. Despite her illness being widely publicized, her death was not discovered until 4-3; following her death, Senior Magisters serving under her kept her passing a secret, making regular radio transmissions in her name. On 2-3, Ila appeared to attend a speech led by Gmr. V'sha and Gmr. Q'so, wearing long robes and an eye-covering veil. She was closely attended to by Senior Magisters during this time, who were later revealed to have puppeteered her body around during the event. Internal suspicions reached a peak at the conclusion of the speech, and the circumstances of Ila's death were discovered two days later. The Senior Magisters responsible for the cover-up were not demoted in order to quell public suspicions, but were ineligible to run in the ensuing elections. Senior Magister Loqa Pili was elected to take the place of Ila.
