Naval platform

A naval platform is a military installation built in a body of water. Their purposes can vary from survallience, defense, deployment, and/or to exert power over a given area.

History

By the Yotumic Divisionary Federation (YDF)

On 11-8 8 PC the Yotumic Divisionary Federation Defense Force Army Corp of Eningeers began constructing concrete naval platforms between Nongba and Ronatana. By 10 PC, atleast 21 have been built.

In 10 PC a battle between the CNN and YDF occured where two YDF naval platforms engaged in combat with a Niueyjar vessel.

By the Tun'ilhameng Liberation Procedure (TLP)

The TLP captured a non-functional YDF naval platform on 23-6 11 PC.

By pirates

Following the end of the Nongban Civil War, most of the naval platforms fell into disuse, and became widely occupied by outlaws and smugglers, used as bases outside of the law. The seas around Ronatana became a central node in the International Black Market. Sporatic pirate raids on the MPLMoN, Ronatana, Yotumic Republic, Hongtongula, and Serene Union of Spyron became common.

By the Qoeul-bo Hrnad

Following the arrival of the Qoeul-bo Hrnad into the sea in the early 40s, prominant smuggler Uc Praani began unifying previously independant pirate collectives under their unified banner, and within a few years the whole of the sea was under their control. Raids became increasingly common and organized. This would continue deep through the Ronatana Crisis, wherein the pirates were slowly pushed out of the sea. It is not known to what extent the Qoeul-bo Hrnad still uses the naval platforms as bases, if they still do at all.
