Reto Heyel is an Utlian writer, journalist, politician and former terrorist with Einru. He joined the group after being fired by the Utstey Daily for his extremist views. As a member of the Yetkeo subculture during his teenage years, he spent much of his time in the Keotyo district of Balmor-Ut where he found a love for writing, eventually becoming the head writer for prominent Yetkeo publication, Paze. As an adult he became a prominent writer with the national publication Utstey Daily, with which he would write some of the papers most renowned articles, notably about foreign cultures and world events. In 55 PC, following the Einru war victory, he became the Oversi of both Einru and Bureau of Communication. In 80 PC he was chosen unanimously by COUR to replace Aracet Teren as Eyht.

Biography

Reto Heyel was born on 14-2 20 PC in Balmor-Ut to a middle class family. In 24 PC, the young Reto was witness to his father, local carpenter Yeren Heyel dying of Leeret, a disease he had kept secret from his family as to continue his woodwork unimpeded. For the rest of his childhood he would be taken care of by his Central-Bank employed mother. The death of his father did not strain the family financially, as his mothers federal job was enough to support the small family.

In the Nuriit of 32 PC, Reto and his mother would move into the northern shopping and warehouse focused Keotyo district of Balmor. In 33 PC Heyel became enrolled in Syepaka secondary, a public school in Keotyo with a number of focused curriculum pathways for students following the completion of their first year. The following school year he became a member of the geologic and geographic sciences program, having desires to become a geologist.

Later that year however the fifteen year old Reto would meet the young Oyyai Nvryk, a writer only two years his elder, who had just gotten published in the Yetkeo publication Paze. The two met during a study period and became friends, Oyyai began lending books he considered important to Heyel, mostly nonfiction history and some adventure fiction he thought Heyel would enjoy. During his second year at Syepaka, Heyels mothers health began declining and he spent much of time with her in hospitals, she was diagnosed with Feykirl, a disease in which the epidermis begins slowly detaching from the rest of the body. During Heyels third year of secondary school, he swapped into the schools writing and journalism pathway and would graduate Syepaka in 37 PC.

After graduating Reto was able to contact Oyyai and get a job at Paze, working as a writer for the publication while attending the University of Wynlia for journalism. Heyels harsh reviews and opinion pieces made him a prominent writer in the subculture, following the departure of Oyyai from Paze in 40 PC, Heyel was promoted to head writer by the magazine head Yyreme Netkech. Heyel himself would depart in 42 PC, after gaining his degree in journalism.

His departure from Paze was also his departure from Balmor, as his mothers condition had reached his end only twenty days after quitting Paze. After her funeral he would move to Unlaunen-Ut. In Unlaunen he would write his first works published outside of Paze, including two novels, a short story collection, and a number of essays published in various newspapers and literary journals. His first novel, Sedentary movements was published on 16-3 44 PC, inspired by his time split between youth culture and his mothers own government office culture, it follows a man who is laid off from a prestigious job at a record label in Orena, he proceeds to spend a year blowing off responsibility and engaging in self-destructive behavior and in turn becomes entangled with various organized criminal groups and local provincial militias. The novel sold poorly and received average reviews from critics. His second novel titled Vitriol was published in 45 PC and sold much better then his debut, it also received critical acclaim. Vitriol is a historical novel that follows the life of a Mesyetet prison guard during the first Mersenite uprising, framed by his conducing of Yekajyu exiling on Merriyem prisoners. The novel was praised for its dense prose, political commentary and well-written characters.

On 8-10 45 PC, Heyel received a job offer as an inhouse journalist at the Utsey daily, the largest publication in Utlia. He would work in the world news department of the Utsey, his commentary on Casean inter-island relations, foreign politics, and House of Light news led to him becoming renowned as one of Utlias best contemporary writers. He became somewhat controversial in 49 PC, after an opinion piece of his titled "Why does Ire Liamia pretend he is worthy of it anymore?" was published by the Utsey. In the column, Heyel outlines a list of reasons he believes Ire has fallen from his once great place in Utlian politics and states his own belief that the Ayem should step down and give the position to someone who cares more. The backlash to the article was fierce, though COUR did not attempt to contact with Reto or the Utsey, the publication still recieved a large amount of complaints and calls for Heyel to be fired, however the Utsey stood by the article in a statement release by the Utsey.

Heyel would continue generating controversy when in 52 PC, he would write another opinion piece directed against the Ayem. Titled "Wlykalt Syenter should be shot twice" the article was a scathing takedown of the recently elected Syenter and his actions in government. His employer did not approve of its publication and quickly recalled all papers including the piece in it. He would be fired the day after the recalling, upon being approached by a number of other newspapers outside the Utsey Daily office, Heyel said the following.

Coincidentally, around the same time Heyel had written the article, he had befriended Aracet Teren, when Teren and Einru at large were forced to relocate to the East Ocean, Heyel followed.
