The Capital Region

The Capital Region is a province of the Republic of Utlia. The province is centered around capital city Tinlea-Ut, which has housed the Utlian government since the Azzta Annexations ended in 1098 TT.

History

Following Utlian Unification and the annexation of the island, first Utyr of the monarchy, Wynlid Liamia divided the island into provinces, part of his plan was to place the capital away from any Eutan or Frish cultural areas, to avoid favoring one group over another.

The site chosen for Tinlea-Ut was a village named Tinntean, owned by the Tela prior to the annexations, during which the village was raided and burnt to the ground. After the Tela were annexed the town was renamed to Tinlea-Ut and became the permanent capital of the nation.

Geography

The area outside of Tinlea-Ut is mostly Heath-land. In the east of the province the western forest of Utlia, the largest forest on the island begins. West of the capital is the western shore of the island. The capital region is among the flattest regions on Utlia, it is the lowest and closest to sea level, narrowly beating out Direnomut. The tallest peak in the province is the second shortest peak on the island, with Mt Myrdern on the northeastern corner reaching 1300 meters tall.

Fauna

In the western half of the province, it is common to spot species of crab like the Mor and Liwen crabs. In the central heath-land around Tinlea-Ut, many animal species have deteriorated in population due to the urban presence but species like Mrola, Teye-Hogs and Woryen. In the eastern portion of the province, many species from the Mountange lowland are present, such as Urla and Cerase.
