Toha Electronics is an electronics company headquartered in T'vaqi specializing in long-distance communications technology. It is the oldest remaining electronics company in the nation.
History
Toha Electronics was founded in 374 TT by Oqi Hrshal, the son of electrical engineering pioneer Iniriqo Hrshal. Iniriqo, the inventor of the signal puncher, had died three months after the creation of the prototype, wishing for his son to continue his work. Oqi made improvements to the device and commercialized it, selling the technology under the Toha Electronics name. Oqi proved a highly successful Main Executive, and Toha Electronics had become the island's third most valuable company by the time of his death in 320 TT. The approximate value of the company at the time is difficult to determine, as multiple currencies were in existence; modern estimates place its value in 320 TT as equivalent to roughly 170 million qhi in the modern day. Toha Electronics would maintain steady growth throughout the following centuries, shifting towards the manufacturing of radio technology upon its invention in 50 TT. This anticipatory shift away from signal puncher technology saved Toha Electronics from the bankruptcy that affected its competitors, though the company's profits had begun to fall by the time radio communication became affordable.
Q'paq Olori, a Main Executive of the company, assumed control of the company in 14 PC after his family received a large sum of money in compensation for the Crossed Swords dispute that involved his father. Q'paq's father, Paq Olori, was a longtime friend of the company's Main Executive at the time, and was able to buy Q'paq the position of Main Executive for a relatively low sum of money. After Q'paq's death, his son Q'q'paq took over the role of Main Executive.
Products
Toha Electronics primarily manufactures and distributes radio systems. The company was a pioneer of the Q Model radio and is often cited as having popularized the device. Despite having shifted away from outdated signal puncher technology, Toha Electronics remains the largest distributor of the devices in the nation. For a brief period, the company sold SunRay-adjacent lamps, though this line of products was quickly discontinued once Hotapasa threatened to have the company bankrupted for product infringement.
