Biography

Early life

Bartan Bonakan was born on 18-2 1351 TT to the eventual Leader of the Banokan, Antok Banokan. During the reign of the Living King, Emachium Mikare the Mikare had a falling out with the rest of the Brinor Perikat. When Emachium died on 14-3 1331 TT the Deram, Banokan and Garvak wanted Antok to succeed him as Living King. The Mikare however wanted the successor to be a closer relative of the Mikare. An agreement was reached on 17-6 1268 TT. Bartan became the Living King and in exchange married Yaichon Mikare who he was to retain as his only wife.

Living King

Emachium had spent the majority of his reign away from Ablesken at his palace in Mida. During this period of neglect, many across Akaria had begun to question the divinity of the Living Kings. Throughout Akaria's history there had always been a few people who questioned the unwritten doctrine of Kadarism but there were never enough of them to threaten the institution of the Living King until Emachium's reign.

Shortly after taking power Bartan, with the help of several ossbosches, began writing a new version of the Bakoro, a book on Karinian beliefs into a unified description of Kadarism. Bartan's 7th Dictate on 22-2 1328 TT. The dictate handed over control of the Living Press to the ossbosches who were to use the press to create copies of the 2nd Bakoro and to then advertise it.
