The Mikare are one of the Kadrikes of Akaria.

History

Under the Andu Kur

The Mikare rose to prominence in the wall city of Mida in the early 1200 TTs as a trade family.

Akarinian invasion

The Akarinian Confederation invaded the Andu Kur in 1425 TT and laid siege to Mida. The war ended on 8-1, 1419 TT with the Andu Kur giving a piece of land, which included Mida, to the Akarinian Confederation. The Akarinians treated the Andu in Mida poorly, but the Mikare, being a Karinian family was treated well and quickly developed a working relationship with the new owners of the city.

Living King Sayaph Lakar was killed on 14-1 1419 TT. Dakarkon Deram, an Akarinian officer in Brinor (near Mida), declared himself Living King without the approval of those of the Karin Plain. On 16-1 1419 TT he issued his 1st Dictate recognising the Mikare as a Kadrike to secure their loyalty for a potential civil war. The dictate also specified that Akabata Mikare was the Leader of the Mikare, Dakarkon would marry Akabata's daughter Omort and that the first son from this marriage would be made the Leader of the Mikare on his birth.

2nd Durantum Perikat

The 1st Bar Perikat failed to select their candidate for Living King and by the time Dakarkon got to Ablesken on 19-1, 1419 TT the majority of Akaria already recognised him as Living King. The Mikare joined the newly formed 2nd Durantum Perikat.

Omort gave birth to Emachium Mikare on 28-4 1417 TT and was made Leader of the Mikare, with Akabata acting as regent. He acted as regent until he was arrested by the Living Army on 25-8 1392 TT for violating Dakarkon's 1st Dictate. Dakarkon died on 25-11 1377 TT and Emachium succeeded him as Living King. On 7-9 1374 TT Emachium returned to Mida to take up residence so that he could better continue his duties as the Leader of the Mikare. During his time in Mida Emachium primarily focused on ruling the lands of the Mikare and dealing with issues relating to the Mikare. On occasion, he'd issue living dictates to better his Kadrike. Despite favouring the Mikare the majority of Emachium's dictates were seen as beneficial to Akaria save for his 5th Dictate issued on 12-5 1354 TT. The dictate ordered a large expansion to his primary residence, the Goghon Palace. Many across Akaria saw this as decadent and not something a Living King would do and contributed to The Questioning.

The 2nd Durantum Perikat ended in 1196 TT when the Deram had a falling out with Living King Matart Kakay.

Klaichandoi's deal

On 13-6 467 TT the Oceanic Council anounced that the majority of their iron mines had begun to deplete and were expected to be completely out of iron within the next decade. Living King Oirula Dakon unwillingless to make a deal with the Deram –Who controlled the Thessda Range and its vast deposits of iron– led to the collapse of the 2nd Agrada Perikat after his death and the election of Living King Klaichandoi Lakar. A deal was struck between Klaichandoi and the Deram on 13-8 454 TT resulting in five living dictates being issued. The forth of which ordered the Mikare and Perat to act as mediatators for the Kingdom of Akaria regarding trade with the Deram.

Trade dispute with the Deram and coup

On 19-3 151 TT Leader of the Mikare, Kamachium Mikare, put a 25% tarriff on all iron brought into the Mikare Kadrike by the Deram. The Deram halted the majority of their iron going through the Mikare Kadrike and tried to negotiate a reduction in tarriffs but Kamachium wouldn't budge. On 29-9 146 TT the Deram executed coup against the government of the Mikare, capturing many government officials including Kamachium and replaced him with his cousin Echantium Mikare who revoked the tarriffs. The Kadrikes of the Karin Plain responsed negatively to this, with the majority of the Kadrikes calling for an all out war against the Deram. Living King Chogot Banokan declared no war and instead, on 6-10 146 TT issued his 2nd Dictate, placing several sanctions against the Deram and their new Mikare ally.

Chogot Banokan died on 22-1 143 TT triggering the 37th Living Election. Bantu Arkara was elected Living King on 15-3 143 TT, starting the 3rd Agrada Perikat. Bantu had intended to bring Akaria to war with the Deram, however, two days after his ascension a fire consumed the Weer city of Manser. As Manser produced a large portion of the Living Army's weapons and munitions a war was considered to be impractical with this crucial part of the supply line being non-functional. Bantu's 1st Dictate was issued on 24-3 143 TT, declaring that Echantium Mikare was an illegitimate ruler of the Mikare and that only the descendants of Kamachium were to be considered legitimate.

Akarian Civil War

The Arkara Army (Soon to be joined by the Kakay Army) attacked the Deram Kadrike on 17-1 16 PC beginning the Akarian Civil War. Shortly after entering the Deram Kadrike the invading armies turned to enter the Mikare Kadrike as the least mountainous route to Dokraim went through there first. The Arkara's forces reached Mida on 17-9 16 PC where they began bombarding the city. Both the Deram and Mikare thought the Arkara and Kakay Armies would not be able to break into Mida. The Deram and Mikare Armies withdrew from Mida towards Dokraim on 3-10 17 PC as part of a ploy to defeat the invaders. After the taking the city the invading armies continued their advance towards Dokraim.

On 19-1 18 PC, several hundred explosives planted by the Deram went off in the mountains above the valley the Arkara and Kakay Armies were traveling through. The subsequent mountain collapse killed around a third of the Arkara and Kakay armies and caused their formations to disintigrate into chaos whilst the Deram and Mikare began their counter-advance. Mida was recaptured on 10-11 18 PC.

The Deram and Mikare Armies engaged the Perat Army in Karedone on 10-3 19 PC. On 17-12, The Weer Chronicle reported that the Mikare's ally, Living King Harakar Oken had returned to Moss Vale following his year-long vacation at an undisclosed location. Shortly after the report the Arkara and their allies began converging and moving towards Moss Vale, the Perat left a small contingent in Karedone to prevent the Deram and their allies the Mikare from following them. The armies of the Bokok, Oken, Sartak and Skrake engaged the armies of the Arkara, Perat, Banokan and Kakay in the Banokan Kadrike on 18-12. The forces of the Perat left in Karedone were defeated on 25-12 allowing the Mikare and Deram Armies to join the battle in the Banokan Kadrike. They arrived on 26-12 in support of Harakar's allies and turned the tide of the battle. The Arkara-led forces disintegrated into chaos on 28-12 with Harakar's allies beginning a march towards Agrada. The victory, however, was short-lived as Harakar died in a boat explosion the next day ending the civil war.
